We are sometimes able to offer one-time low prices on products in limited quantity. When we do, we offer them as "special buys". Special buy offers have their own name to help us distinguish and separate inventory. While no two vanilla beans are the same, this "Sambava" Madagascar bean was grown in the same region as our regular Madagascar grade B vanilla bean but offered today at a lower price and with limited availability. If it's in stock, buy it quickly as it will stock out.
These Vanilla Beans are of the highest quality and have a rich, dark aroma and a strong vanilla scent. Grade B Madagascar vanilla beans are usually between 5" and 7" inches long and have a dark brown color. They are more dry than our Grade A vanilla beans and are perfect for making homemade vanilla extract. They are sometimes still pliable and the caviar can be harvested for creams. Often, however, they can be very dry, cracked, split and brittle and cannot be cut and seeded prior to submersing them in spirits. Instead, simply break them into multiple pieces or leave the whole. Though they are dryer than grade A, their essential oils are still locked in and they will produce a tasty, sweet and beautiful extract at a much lower cost.
The Madagascar vanilla beans are everyone's favorite for all of the aforementioned reasons. They became the world's most popular vanilla bean because Madagascar has historically produced the world's most vanilla beans. If you grew up loving the taste of vanilla, the vanilla you were tasting most-likely originated from Madagascar. So it's a familiar smell and taste that we all love.
VanillaPura vanilla beans are all shipped vacuum sealed for freshness and should be stored unrefrigerated in a cool, dry and dark place.
On average, there are 6-12 beans/oz depending on the size and moisture content of the specific batch of vanilla beans. There can be as few as 5 beans or as many as 20 beans. Pricing reflects current market conditions and will be updated as market prices change.
