Β
VanillaPura's V.bahiana vanilla beans are an exquisite example of traditional, wild vanilla. Named after the city of Belem just south of the point where the Amazon River enters the waters of the Atlantic ocean and the port city for ships coming from and entering The Amazon. It's from these tropical regions in Northern Brazil where some of the world's finest vanilla is cultivated.Β

When you first open a pouch of The Belem V.bahiana Brazilian vanilla beans, your nose will be met with a bold and sweet vanilla aroma with a slight hint of vanilla spice, similar to vanilla beans from Mexico. You will tease out the undertones of chocolate that will also present themselves in your finished extracts.
V.bahiana vanilla beans are very oily and provide a perfect, rich oil for making vanilla sugar with the oils alone, by adding sugar to the pouches these vanilla beans are shipped in. The are often small, fat and plump, very similar to the V.cribbiana species of vanilla. V.bahiana vanilla beans are a wonderful vanilla for cooking, baking, extract making, sugars, powders, cocktail making and much more.Β
