Welcome to Papau New Guinea, home to one of the most vanillin-rich vanilla beans on our planet. This bean is named after Popondetta, a beautiful Southern port city on the South East side of Papua New Guinea (PNG). This is a retail product and will ship within 2-5 days.
VanillaPura's Popondetta Vanilla Beans are of the highest quality and boast one of the highest vanillin content levels of all vanilla beans. They are plump, dark, rich in oils and have a bold traditional vanilla aroma and taste when used in your extracts. Virtually any spirit will do when making vanilla extracts with this exquisite vanilla bean.
When you first open a pouch of Popondetta vanilla beans, your nose will be met with pure vanilla bliss. It is one of the most rich vanilla experiences that we have encountered. It's a simple, elegant, fruity and traditional vanilla experience, much like Sumatra or Tongan but naturally a powerful, almost double-fold scent. The people and cultures that produce these amazing vanilla beans are proud of their heritage and the sweetness emanating from their country through this amazing little spice.

After months (or even years) of extraction, your finished Popondetta extract will demonstrate a bold and pronounced vanilla aroma with enhanced, traditional vanilla sweetness. This will be one of the sweetest vanilla extracts in your cupboard with universal application to every type of cooking.
Our Popondetta PNG vanilla beans are very oily and rich with vanillin. They are usually between 5" and 7" inches long and have a dark brown color. They are very fragrant and are often the choice of chef's for their outstanding traditional vanilla experience.
VanillaPura vanilla beans are all shipped vacuum sealed for freshness and should be stored unrefrigerated in a cool, dry and dark place.
On average, there are 5-8 beans/oz depending on the moisture content of the specific batch of vanilla beans. There can be as few as 5 beans or as many as 20 beans. Pricing reflects current market conditions and will be updated as market prices change.
