The Pacific Blend — Built for Halloween Baking
Halloween is the unofficial start of the holiday baking season. The costumes come out, the pumpkins are carved, and the kitchen fills with the smells that carry you all the way through to New Year's — spiced breads, Frankenstein cookies, pumpkin pies, sweet-and-dark chocolate treats. It is the night when baking becomes theatrical, and the extract you use should be worthy of the occasion.
This blend was designed for exactly that. Three Pacific origins — two from the islands of Indonesia, one from the legendary vanilla-growing islands of French Polynesia — chosen for the way their flavors layer into something sweet, complex, and deeply satisfying across every kind of Halloween and holiday baking.
Start your extract now. It will be ready for Halloween baking next year — and every Halloween after that. Add the matching extract jar label with the names of those who helped you make it, and it becomes a tradition that lives in your cabinet for years.
The Origins & Their Flavors
French Polynesia / Tahiti (V. tahitensis) — Sweet vanilla, floral, tropical fruit, and vanilla spice. French Polynesia is one of the most celebrated vanilla-growing regions in the world — the islands where V. tahitensis developed its signature floral character, shaped by volcanic soil, ocean air, and a growing tradition unlike anywhere else on earth. In this blend, it is the bright, exotic top note — the tropical sweetness that makes every bite feel like something special.
Sentani, Eastern Indonesia (V. tahitensis) — Subtle, sweet, floral, with a hint of blackberry. Sentani is the quieter voice in this blend — a delicate floral note that bridges the tropical brightness of the French Polynesian beans and the bold darkness of Papua. It adds a soft, berry-like sweetness that lifts lighter baked goods and keeps the blend from becoming too heavy.
Papua, Eastern Indonesia (V. planifolia) — Dark chocolate, caramel, and bold vanilla. Papua is the anchor — the deep, rich, Halloween-appropriate darkness that gives this blend its weight and staying power. It is the note that makes a chocolate cookie taste extraordinary, the depth that holds up in spiced pumpkin bread and rich holiday cakes.
Together, these three create a blend that opens with tropical floral sweetness, moves through soft blackberry and vanilla spice, and finishes with a long, dark chocolate and caramel depth — a flavor arc that works beautifully across the full range of Halloween and holiday baking.
Designed for Sweet & Smoky Spirits
This blend was formulated to work with vodka, bourbon, or brandy — and performs beautifully in all three.
- Vodka lets the French Polynesian floral notes and Sentani blackberry come forward cleanly — a bright, tropical extract ideal for sugar cookies, shortbread, and lighter Halloween treats. Use a ratio of 1oz of beans for every 8oz of alcohol and age up to 1 year for light spirits.
- Bourbon or brandy amplifies the Papua dark chocolate and caramel character, creating a rich, complex extract built for pumpkin pie, spiced banana bread, pecan cookies, and the boldest holiday baking. Age 18 months to 2 years for dark spirits.
