When we created one of our first vanilla extracts in 2016, we followed instructions online from someone that said, "It's easy. Just put a few beans in booze and then wait a few months." Well, after nearly a year we learned we had too few beans in too much alcohol with too little alcohol content...and we had to start all over again.

Our goal at VanillaPura is to make sure that everyone is successful with their first DIY vanilla extract. There is a science to extract making. It requires some knowledge and attention to detail. Every vanilla bean has a different taste based on its species and origin. Every alcohol has a different taste that may or may not work with extract making. Bean preparation is important. Using fruits, nuts, cacao, coffee and other spices can really enhance your experience.

We want to teach the world how to make fantastic extracts at home, and we'd love your help!

We created VP University as a way to teach groups of 5, all the way up to 30, in convenient, online extract making classes. Each class is designed to be fun and informative. It's an entertaining event to do with friends and a great way to meet new people. We enjoy it because we can interact directly with you. You can ask questions directly and get answers immediately as we spend 30-60 minutes together in a fun class or even a party.

How do I become a paid VanillaPura Extract Ambassador?

There are just 4 steps to becoming an ambassador:

Step 1: Request Approval
.
Email VanillaPura at support@vanillapura.com to let them know you would like to be an ambassador. If approved, VanillaPura will send you a custom coupon code that you can share with anyone for 10% off their first extract class or party.
If we don't already know you, we may set up a quick phone call to introduce ourselves personally, as we want to know and approve each ambassador.

Step 2: Share Your Custom Coupon Code
.
With your custom coupon code, you have the ability to give people 10% off an extract class. When your friends or people in online forums are asking about extract making, you can invite them to a class. Best of all, if you get 5 people or more to attend the same class on the same date and time, you will be able to attend that class with them for free, if you choose.

Step 3: Earn Rewards
.
You will earn $5.00 (USD) each time your custom coupon code is used by someone other than yourself. Or, you will earn $40.00 (USD) if you can coordinate having 5 people register for the same class together on the same date and time. Or, even better, you will earn $100.00 (USD) if you can coordinate having 10 people register for the same class together on the same date and time.

Important Note: Commissions are paid based on class attendance, not just registration, as those that register but do not attend will usually be given a refund.

Step 4: Fill Out a W-9, an Agreement & Get Paid
.
Before getting your first commission check, all ambassadors will be required to complete and submit a standard W-9 (found here) for tax reporting purposes. A simple agreement will also be sent via docusign for signature. Commission checks will be issued by the 20th of each month for all classes attended in the previous month by those that used your coupon code at registration.
