Wow! What a surprise I was chosen for the Vanilla Orchid Necklace! It's beautiful and means so much since I started this journey on 2018. Thsnk you again Vanillapura for all you do!
As with all the varity of beans that VanillaPura these beans are just wonderful. The aroma is so nice, they are also vey oily. Another great vanilla bean from Vanillapura. Did I mention, they have an incredable variety of vanilla, many that you cannot get any where else, that is unless you visit all those countries, which would be almost impossible and very improbile
This was an awesome gift for just being kind I won it and am so thankful for this and the amazing group that comes with it! Thank you so much!
The Hawaiin beans are one variety that I really been looking forward to trying. I was so excited when they went on sale and I was able to buy 1oz. When I opened the mailbox the smell of vanilla hit me. I add them to vodka and bow just have to wait until it is ready. I went back and ordered another ounce for my birthday.
Looking forward to comparing these Ugandan beans in extract with the Madagascar beans in extract. Now just have to wait…
Love the Peppermint Patina label which Vanilla Pura kindly sent when I inquired about it. Great customer service!
It came well packaged, fresh and easy to use
I love gettingmy vanilla beansfrom VanillaPura. I have made about 5 batches of Madagascar and these are the best beans ever.
This beautiful bottle calls to be displayed!
The curves, the light bounces off the bottle, Fill it with you favorite extract, put a lovely flower in it.
Just Love these Hawaiian Vanilla Beans. I could not beleive the length of them! Very oily and very straight. I put them in vodka to bring out their true flavor. Hardest part of making your own vanilla extract is the time you have to wait for it to extract.
OH my! These beans are new. They are rich with oils, smell so wonderful. They are long an wide. I am so happy to have tried these new beans. Wating for these beans to extract will be hard, but so worth the wait! This gives me time to plan ahead! Thanks VanillaPura for always looking for the best beans and selections!
It is the best product for the best price. I love your customer service as well. All great companies have great customer service.
Just love these bottles.
I just now finished putting these in some Jeptha Creed 80% moonshine. They were a good size, soft and oily. The smell was great. I washed my hands really good after slicing them, but I can still smell vanilla on my fingers!!!!

Hi Tammy! Welcome to the world of vanilla! That is such a brilliant question, and we have a lot of different vanilla beans to choose from! You could start by taking our “Vanilla Extract Making Quiz”, this hopefully provide some good vanilla suggestions. The quiz can be found here

Let us know if you have any other questions :-)
how do you pick which vanilla beans to buy. I am a beginner and always buy vanilla down in Mexico for cheap and love it.
I would like to start making my own.

Hi Mary! If you’d like to make 1/2 strength vanilla extract then simply 1/2 the weight of vanilla that the calculator calculates. We wouldn’t recommend 1/2 fold though as the vanilla flavor might not be prominent enough. Hopefully this answers your question but let us know if we can help in any other way :-)
How do I calculate 1/2 fold?
Hi Linda! Vanilla Beans vary a lot in size so we prefer to weigh our beans to make sure we have the right amount. We recommend 1 oz of beans for every 8oz of alcohol. So for 5oz of alcohol you would need 0.6oz of beans for a single fold extract. For double fold extract you would need 1.2oz. Hope this helps, but let us know if you have any other questions :-)

Welcome Loraine! It’s going to be fun! Let us know if we can help along the way. Happy Extracting!
I’m excited to get started with my vanilla extract for next Christmas.
Hi Susan! Great point, you can absolutely still go with the general rule of 1oz of beans to 8oz of alcohol, this tool is just helpful for those times when you have more or less alcohol or want to try making a double fold extract, or if you want to check your calculations!
What happened the the “rule” of 1oz beans to 8oz alcohol?? Why the change?
This is such a great tool for novice vanilla extract makers! It completely takes the guess work or calculator gymnastics out of the equation!
