This isn't ordinary strawberry liqueur! The vanilla adds a creamy addition that mellows out the vodka. Serve over ice or add it to sparkling lemonade. Either way, you will not be disappointed!

Ingredients:

-3 cups Vodka (Your favorite or whatever you have on hand )

-8 oz strawberries

-2 Tbsp of orange vanilla sugar ( plain sugar works too)

-  2 large or 4 small vanilla beans split

Instructions:

1) Hull and quarter strawberries

2) Split the vanilla bean and add all the above ingredients to a tightly capped jar; lightly shake. Store in a cool, dark place shaking daily for 10-14 days.

3) Using a mesh strainer or a coffee filter, strain out beans and fruit from the liquid into a bowl. A mesh strainer will allow some of the vanilla seeds to come through. A coffee filter will filter all of them out. Super clear and smooth or speckled with vanilla seeds for something uniquely yours.

4) Transfer into a bottle with a lid. Store in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to use.

**Tip: Dry out the strawberries and vanilla mix with sugar in a food processor and you have strawberry vanilla sugar!**

This looks amazing. But, what can you do with all of that goodness that is strained out?

Hi Donna:)
Really you can’t go wrong with any vanilla bean. Choose your favorite and it will be delicious. We used Rioja Pompona for the extra caviar (vanilla seeds). One Rioja bean is quite large and can provide a lot of extra creamy goodness to any recipe. Whatever bean you use just make sure you slice it open so all those delicious seeds (caviar) come out and soak into your liqueur.
