It’s always a joy to receive a Vanilla Pura gift card!!! Not sure what I want to get yet, lol
They smell wonderful. Very plump and pliable.
My favorite bean. Im going to sink them in dark rum. Next year will be awesome
I’m so new at this and have vanilla brewing & the mocha blend, but amazing & everyone on the group super helpful
oh what a absolutely gorgeously designed bottle! I love the round ball for a stopper reminds me of a crystal ball! The vanilla displays beautifully shining through the crystal cuts in the glass… definitely a great gift and a spectacular way to showcase any finished extract!
Nothing to dislike about this bottle … I use a smaller one daily and the ease of pouring it is amazing… the vanilla flows into the neck gently and seamlessly so there are no big splashes of it just a smooth stream of Lucious vanilla … one of my all time favorites it’s elegant in it’s simplicity!
These are my favorite vanilla jars. They stack neatly against each other which is so useful in a packed vanilla area. The top fits snugly too. Very pretty too!
I put this in 8 ounces of honey and let it sit for about four months now. I plan to use it in tea and hot cereal! It works really well!
I put this in 8 ounces of honey and I really like the flavor! It is going to be amazing in tea!
The plumpest, fattest, most decadent vanilla beans I have had in over 30 years. A double batch of tapioca actually was crunchy (in a very good way) because there are so many seeds in one bean.
These jars are heavy and so well made! I have collected all the sizes offered. I recommend these if you are looking for elegance along with excellence.
Love the vanilla beans i received! I always get great products from vanilla pura!
Excited to get these swimming today…using light rum
Wow! What a surprise I was chosen for the Vanilla Orchid Necklace! It's beautiful and means so much since I started this journey on 2018. Thsnk you again Vanillapura for all you do!

Hi Tammy! Welcome to the world of vanilla! That is such a brilliant question, and we have a lot of different vanilla beans to choose from! You could start by taking our “Vanilla Extract Making Quiz”, this hopefully provide some good vanilla suggestions. The quiz can be found here

Let us know if you have any other questions :-)
how do you pick which vanilla beans to buy. I am a beginner and always buy vanilla down in Mexico for cheap and love it.
I would like to start making my own.

Hi Mary! If you’d like to make 1/2 strength vanilla extract then simply 1/2 the weight of vanilla that the calculator calculates. We wouldn’t recommend 1/2 fold though as the vanilla flavor might not be prominent enough. Hopefully this answers your question but let us know if we can help in any other way :-)
How do I calculate 1/2 fold?
Hi Linda! Vanilla Beans vary a lot in size so we prefer to weigh our beans to make sure we have the right amount. We recommend 1 oz of beans for every 8oz of alcohol. So for 5oz of alcohol you would need 0.6oz of beans for a single fold extract. For double fold extract you would need 1.2oz. Hope this helps, but let us know if you have any other questions :-)

I’m super excited to try these vanilla beans as I am a new creator of exquisite vanilla, which will be age 12 to 18 months!
My first extract experience!
Welcome Loraine! It’s going to be fun! Let us know if we can help along the way. Happy Extracting!
I’m excited to get started with my vanilla extract for next Christmas.
Hi Susan! Great point, you can absolutely still go with the general rule of 1oz of beans to 8oz of alcohol, this tool is just helpful for those times when you have more or less alcohol or want to try making a double fold extract, or if you want to check your calculations!
What happened the the “rule” of 1oz beans to 8oz alcohol?? Why the change?
This is such a great tool for novice vanilla extract makers! It completely takes the guess work or calculator gymnastics out of the equation!
