As with all of the different types of VinallaPura provides, I haven't found a type of Vanilla that I don't like. So many different varieties and flavors.
I love the YUM blend! It is made up from the people in the group. We each pick vanilla beans and the owers of the group decide what goes in the blend. We don't know what vanilla beans are in it. Makes a great extract. A once a year unknown extract, they always come out great
Love my July Orchid necklace!! Have wanted it since VanillaPura first introduced them. Thank you so very much!!!
Yum!! I wasn't expecting such an aroma from one bag of beans...but kudos to VanillaPura!! Did it again ^^ And the bottle is exquisite!!
Excited!! I joined the group late 2025 and missed all the yummies in the beginning. Now I have my 2025 Most Popular Bean blend and I will wait patiently!! Yes, the beans smell fantastic as always ^^
Love love love.... The bag smells so so good and the beans are plump and smells scrumptious!! I can't wait until extract time!
I can't really speak on how the extract tastes as I just assembled everything yesterday, but I'm sure it will be good!
Just received my Peppermint Patina extract today. I can’t wait to start taste testing in a couple months. As soon as I cut the bag open I was hit with peppermint. I’m already looking into recipes I can use this in.
Always a joy to do retail therapy at VanillaPura. Rare is the time I need to contact them but if I do it is always resolved quickly 🥰
Got my Jayapura beans 1 pound yesterday. They are already swimming in 100 proof vodka. They were very oily & smelled so good. Thank y’all for what you do for us vanilla bean freaks!
I am so excited to start the new Zodiac Blend of the Month Club. I was trying to keep up on buying the blends individually and I missed a couple. I spoke with Michelle Rosa and explained to her I am a lazy shopper and a club would make it easier. Michelle talked to the powers that be and now there is a club. I am so excited to add more vanilla blends to my collection.
Love them, very moist and split easily. Going to make great vanilla.
These are great beans a little dryer than I would have liked but still smelled good and seem to be making great vanilla.
Smelled so yummy. Moist and oily too. I split them and they are happily swimming in vodka.

Hi Tammy! Welcome to the world of vanilla! That is such a brilliant question, and we have a lot of different vanilla beans to choose from! You could start by taking our “Vanilla Extract Making Quiz”, this hopefully provide some good vanilla suggestions. The quiz can be found here

Let us know if you have any other questions :-)
how do you pick which vanilla beans to buy. I am a beginner and always buy vanilla down in Mexico for cheap and love it.
I would like to start making my own.

Hi Mary! If you’d like to make 1/2 strength vanilla extract then simply 1/2 the weight of vanilla that the calculator calculates. We wouldn’t recommend 1/2 fold though as the vanilla flavor might not be prominent enough. Hopefully this answers your question but let us know if we can help in any other way :-)
How do I calculate 1/2 fold?
Hi Linda! Vanilla Beans vary a lot in size so we prefer to weigh our beans to make sure we have the right amount. We recommend 1 oz of beans for every 8oz of alcohol. So for 5oz of alcohol you would need 0.6oz of beans for a single fold extract. For double fold extract you would need 1.2oz. Hope this helps, but let us know if you have any other questions :-)

I’m super excited to try these vanilla beans as I am a new creator of exquisite vanilla, which will be age 12 to 18 months!
My first extract experience!
Welcome Loraine! It’s going to be fun! Let us know if we can help along the way. Happy Extracting!
I’m excited to get started with my vanilla extract for next Christmas.
Hi Susan! Great point, you can absolutely still go with the general rule of 1oz of beans to 8oz of alcohol, this tool is just helpful for those times when you have more or less alcohol or want to try making a double fold extract, or if you want to check your calculations!
What happened the the “rule” of 1oz beans to 8oz alcohol?? Why the change?
This is such a great tool for novice vanilla extract makers! It completely takes the guess work or calculator gymnastics out of the equation!
