We are pleased to offer Tongan vanilla Beans. Purchase just 1 or many to experiment with your own, homemade vanilla extracts.

Tongan vanilla beans are often described as "bold and pronounced". They have fruity tones and are one of the most sought-after vanilla beans in the world. They enhance desserts with fruity tones or focuses, in addition to offering unique sweetness to breads and creams. Pies, danishes, fruit tarts, etc. are all improved with Tongan vanilla beans.

Only a decade ago, nearly all of the vanilla plantations in Tonga laid dormant. But thanks to efforts within the Vava'u region, 95% of the once-dormant vanilla plantations are now cultivating vanilla beans.

Tonga now has more than 300 vanilla farmers and 1400 local residents that work within the Tongan vanilla bean industry. With every purchase of Tongan vanilla beans, you are contributing to the growth of an emerging community. Remember, every vanilla bean was hand pollinated via a delicate process performed by a trained vanilla bean farmer.

These Vanilla Beans are of the highest quality and have a rich, fruity, cherry and sometimes licorice aroma and a strong vanilla scent. Grade A Tongan vanilla beans are usually between 6" and 7" inches long and have a dark brown color. They are perfect for making homemade vanilla extract, home cooking or baking. VanillaPura vanilla beans are a regular choice for professional chefs and are used in 5 star restaurants around the world. We proudly offer some of the most sought-after vanilla beans on the market.

VanillaPura vanilla beans are all shipped vacuum sealed for freshness and should be stored unrefrigerated in a cool, dry and dark place.

Tongan beans

I received my beans today and they were so fat plump oily and a pleasure to smell. So satisfied can't wait for extracting to be done.

LOVE!

This is my hands down favorite. The vanilla smell is so potent and pronounced with a cherry-like or licorice-like under tone. There's a big difference between these and, my second favorite, Madagascar.

Different? Yes. Very Different? Not so much...

Still 3 stars because they are good vanilla beans and the quality is great. Can I tell the difference between Tongan and Tahitian and Madagascar? Not a lot. They definitely have a different smell and texture...but I can't say that my cookies taste different when I use Tongan extract instead of Madagascar extract. Maybe I should use more? Either way, I would rather have real, high-quality vanilla in my cookies (or other desserts) than the cheap, unhealthy vanilla from the grocery store. So I'm happy. I can't give 5 stars because I just can't get that excited about vanilla. I'll give 3 because it is high quality and you do get what you pay for.

Wow...Really Is Different

I had to try these. A friend referred these to me and said they actually have a licorice taste and smell. I didn't believe here. But WOW! THEY REALLY DO!!! I'm making extract with them by soaking them in Vodka. Can't wait to try it out!!
