I removed the peels from 4 lemons. Scraped the white pith off and added 1 cup of vodka. I let it sit a month before adding the bean. I strained the lemon peel twice and added more. This is my last strain so I added the bean whole so I didn't loose caviar until I strained the last time. Now I'll strain the lemon peels and cut the bean and let it sit until the vanilla flavor comes out.
I have 2 more weeks on the lemon peels. I keep them in until they turn white. I have the bean tied on the bottom but I will take it out and cut the bean in half and return it to the jar. I'll let it sit until the fragrance is where i want it, then the taste test.
