Salted Caramel Vanilla Extract
One of the most popular concoctions we see brewing in our private Facebook group, Making Vanilla Extract by VanillaPura is "Caramel Extract." Since caramel is a candy, there is nothing to extract from it, so the technical term for this yummy creation is emulsion. One way to make this tasty creation into an extract is by adding in VanillaPura vanilla beans. For this recipe, we will be using our Madagacar Vanilla Beans. This is the perfect addition to your morning coffee, milkshakes, baked good, and more!
Ingredients:
- 5 VanillaPura Madagascar Vanilla Beans cut in half
- 10 sea salted caramels (about 5 ounces)
- 750 ml Bottle of Vodka (about 25 oz)
Instructions:
-
Open up the vodka and pour some out of the bottle and add it to another bottle of vanilla you have infusing or just save it in another bottle.
-
Next cut 5 VanillaPura Madagascar Beans in half and 10 Sea Salted Caramels (about 5 ounces) up so that the pieces can easily be dropped into your bottle of vodka.
-
Drop the cut up Vanilla Beans and Sea Salted Caramels into your bottle of vodka.
- Each day turn your Sea Salted Caramel Vanilla Extract back and forth a few times for the next 6 weeks or until your vanilla is infused to your liking.
